Another disappointment

Tomorrow December 24 was D-day for picking up our camper so that we could take it out to Medina and The Farm Country RV Park. I called the repair shop this afternoon to inquire as to the status of the repair. Neither my wife or I were very confident that the answer would be that it was complety ready. We were right. It isn’t completely ready. One of the repairs that had to be done to the camper was to have a new roller put on the kitchen sideout. In order to do that repair, the big trim pieces had to be taken off so the slideout could be completely removed from the camper. In the process of taking the trim off the two vertical pieces were broken and needed to be replaced. The shop ordered the trim but Heartland sent the wrong pieces. According to the repair shop, they weren’t even close.

Our plans were to pick up the camper tomorrow and leave Sunday for the Hill Country. Now we have to wait at least another week and possibly more for the correct pieces to be shipped and installed. Our dealership, Camperland RV Sales, has done a very nice job of trying to get us out on time. They can’t help it if the manufacturer sends the incorrect parts. Had the correct parts been shipped, we would be on our way by Sunday. Each time we have had the camper in for repair and told Camperland that we had a trip planned, they would try to get the camper to a position that we could make the trip and then return to complete the repair. They have essentially done the same thing this time. All repairs are complete except for the trim pieces. Since we were planning on leaving the camper in Medina for about 5 months, we have elected to wait until absolutely everything is complete before we take the camper. My hat is off to Camperland!
