Cherry Hill Park

Cherry Hill Park is located in College Park, MD just north of Washington, DC. After visiting with our son and family, we made the short drive from Ramblin’ Pines Family Campground down to Cherry Hill, a 29 mile trip. We stayed there for three nights and two full days so that we could take our grandson into Washington, DC. He has never been there, so we wanted him to have the opportunity to see the sights.

Cherry Hill Park is a very nice RV campground that is very convenient to the DC area. They have about 350 RV sites, 12 rental units and about 50 tent sites. The RV sites vary from some being okay in size to others being too small. We were parked in a pull-thru that was set up as side-by-side. I personally hate the side-by-side set up but that’s the only way we could get the pull-thru. The back-in sites were wider but a lot of them were not very deep. Because of that, there wasn’t much room for parking your tow vehicle or your towed vehicle. The campground was very full when we were there, so it had a very crowded feeling. The crowded feeling can be overlooked because the campground is so clean and well maintained.

The campground offers a lot of amenities. There are two swimming pools, a cafe, several play areas, nice dog run, hiking path, outdoor games, nice game room and a large meeting area. In the office area they have a supply of groceries and a fair amount of RV supplies.

The most attractive convenience that they have is a metro bus stop at the campground entrance. You can catch the bus and it will take you to the subway that will take you into Washington, DC. This is a great way to go see the sights of Washington. With almost no parking available in town, it is must easier to ride the metro system and it is very easy to use.

If you plan on visiting the Washington, DC area in you RV, I highly recommend this campground as a place to stay.
