On the road to Maryland

We are on the road to Maryland to spend some time with our son and his family. We left day before yesterday and will spend three nights on the road. We have made this trip three times before and each time we have taken a different route. However, this year we are taking the same route that we took the first time we went to Maryland but we are staying in different campgrounds with one exception. Our first night was in Picayune, MS at the Sun Roamers RV Resort where we stayed about three years ago. The Sun Roamers RV Resort just fit the route and without many other choices, we decided to stay there again.

Our route of travel is taking us from The Woodlands, TX out Interstate 10 up Interstate 59 to Chattanooga, TN. We spent last night at the Lookout Mountain Chattanooga West KOA. Tonight we are in the Wytheville KOA in Wytheville, VA. Tomorrow we will arrive at the Ramblin’ Pines Family Campground and RV Park, which is about 20 minutes south of Westminster, MD where our son lives. We will be there until the following Sunday.

This is the first time that we have come to Maryland in the spring. We usually come up in the fall to see the fall leaves but this year we wanted to see the spring flowers. The Red Bud trees and the Dog Wood trees have been spectacular. There are other trees blooming that we don’t know the names of, but they are certainly pretty. One thing that we noticed is that there is a absence of wild flowers like we get in Texas. However, the trees make up for the lack of wild flowers. Maybe they have wild flowers and we are too early. I don’t know!

I’ll say more about the campgrounds that we visit on this trip in a later blog.
