Thanksgiving in Medina at The Farm Country RV Park

As I mentioned in a previous post, we are back in Medina, Texas at The Farm Country RV Park where we keep our camper 6 months out of the year. This year we decided to have our Thanksgiving dinner here at the RV park. One of our daughters and her family came and stayed with us in the camper. We were a little crowded but we got through it just fine. A good friend came up in their camper and one of their sons and his wife came with them. The weather was perfect, the bees were absent, so we had a nice dinner outside.

I’m a little late writing a Thanksgiving post but with all of the family here it was difficult to find time and space to do any writing. Another distraction was taking a couple of days to go out to the deer lease in Rocksprings, Texas. We went out the day after Thanksgiving and my 10 year old grandson shot his first deer. Needless to say, he was very excited!

This year has been a tough year for our economy and therefore a tough year for many people who have lost their jobs. Not only have folks lost their jobs but everyone who has any retirement accounts in the stock market have lost a large portion of their retirement. Retirees, like myself have suffered a decline in the value of their retirement account and today we were finally told that we are offically in a recession. Even with all of this, we have a lot for which to be thankful. The most important of all is that we have our health and our family. The rest we can deal with.

Below are a few pictures of our Thankgiving at the campground.

This picture was taken the day before Thanksgiving out on the ranch property where the campground is located. We took the four wheelers and the kids and let them run off some of their energy.
