The Ole Town Cotton Gin RV Park is a small RV park located on Highway 287 between Wichita Falls, TX and Amarillo, TX in the town of Goodlett, TX. On our trips to Colorado we try to make it to Goodlet by late afternoon and stay there over night.
The town of Goodlett only has one building that I can identify. Therefore, if you plan on staying there you need to plan ahead and watch for the signs for the campground. The campground is a little hard to see from the main highway, but if you are going slow you will not miss it. If you are going northwest, the campground is on your right and is on your left if you are going southeast. The road into the campground is paved and the interior roads are good gravel roads.
The office and other facilities are located in an old cotton gin. It is well done and has a nice atmosphere to it. They have 40 sites with 20 of them being pull thrus. There is TV service at each site along with Internet service. However, I don't remember being able to connect to the Internet. Maybe they have better service now. Each site has 30/50 amp service with sewer connections and trash pickup at each site. Each site also has a picnic table available. They have restrooms, showers and laundry. There is an outdoor swimming pool with hot tub and an enclosed rec hall. Pets are welcomed but they do have a restriction as to the breed.
Each morning they have a free breakfast that usually consist of biscuits and gravy, pancakes and dry cereal. There is also coffee, orange juice and milk. This is a very nice campground for an overnight stay.
