Mesa Verde RV Resort is located 3/4 of a mile east of the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park. It is 6.5 miles from the junction of US 160 and SH 184 in Mancos, Colorado. The elevation at the park is 6880 feet and all of the roads are good gravel roads.
This is a small but very nice and clean campground with 48 RV sites. Thirty three of the sites are pull thrus and all sites offer water and electricity (30/50 amps) but only 32 have sewer connections. Some of the sites are side by side. They have 21 tents sites and 1 rental unit. The restrooms and showers are nice and clean. They have a heated pool and spa, horse shoes, play area, enclosed rec area, FAX/copy available and WiFi. Each site also has a picnic table.
We chose this campground over several others in the immediate area and believe that we made the best choice. We wanted to be close to Mesa Verde National Park so that we could visit the Park and not leave our dog for an extended period of time.
If you have never been to Mesa Verde National Park, you need to go. I wasn't quite sure what to expect but was very pleased with the visit. The cliff dwellings are amazing and the scenery is beautiful. I was surprised by the fact that even though we were camping almost at the entrance to the park, it was a 15 mile drive on a very winding road to get to the main part of the park where the cliff dwellings are located.
Mesa Verde RV Resort is a very nice park and we highly recommend it if you are going to visit the National Park. You are also close to Cortez, Colorado and the Four Corners area if you want to visit them. For those who may not know, Four Corners is the spot where four of our states meet in the same geographical spot.
