Shady Pines RV Park
Shady Pines RV Park is located just east of Texarkana, TX on Highway 67. To get to the park from I-30 take Exit 218 and go south on FM 989 also known as S Kings Hwy. Turn right on Hwy 67 and go about 5 miles. The park is well lighted and is on the right. If you are coming up Hwy 59 from the south, you can take FM 2148 to the left proceed to Hwy 67 and turn left. The park is less than a mile on the right.
Shady Pines RV Park is also a full service sales and RV repair center. The service center has been in its present location since 1967. The owners built this very nice RV park adjacent to the service center about 5 years ago in 2003. The service center has a full line of RV parts and accessories.
The RV Park has 48 sites with full hookups including 30/50 amp electrical service. Eighteen of the sites are pull thrus. There is no provision for Tent Camping. All of the roads and pads are concrete with a concrete patio. The roads are wide and the sites are larger than at most campgrounds. A nice feature of the pads is that they have large flares on either side so that you don't run the risk of running over the grass. Each site has a picnic table that is made of metal and coated with a rubberized material that will keep them looking good for a long time. Other amenities at the park include cable TV, WiFi, very clean restrooms and showers, laundry facility, and a very nice activity building with a full kitchen. Pets are welcomed.
Since this campground is located out of town just far enough, you get the feeling of being out in the country. They have a nice private lake that is stocked with catfish, crappie, bass and brim and you don't need a license to fish there. You get to eat what you catch!
We were impressed with the activity building. It is very good looking facility and makes for a great place to hold your club meetings. This is a very nice campground so we definitely recommend it for your camping pleasure.
