Staunton Walnut Hills KOA is located in the Shenandoah Valley in Staunton, VA off of I-64/I-81.  Traveling from the south on I-64/I-81 take exit 213B and turn right onto US-11.  Move to the left and a short distance turn left at traffic light onto US-340.  Travel about 2.5 miles and turn left onto Walnut Hills Road.  Travel about 1/2 mile and the campground will be on the right.  Traveling from the north on I-64/I-81 take exit 217 and turn right onto RTE 654 (White Hill Road).  Go about .7 mile and turn left onto US-11.  Go about 1.5 miles to RTE 655 (Walnut Hills Road) and turn left.  In about 1 mile the campground will be on the left.  The roads leading into the camground are paved but the interior roads are gravel.

This KOA Kampground has 129 total RV sites.  Only 63 have full hookups that include sewer, 30/50 amp, water and cable.  Of those 63, 5 have 50 amp only.  The other sites are a mixture of water, electic and cable.  There are 34 pull thrus with 26 of them being very usual in that they are tandum sites.  The back site is for a driving RV and the front is for a 5th wheel or travel trailer or I guess another driving RV.  If you have a 5th wheel or travel trailer and the driving RV is already there and you have the front site, then it becomes a backin.  I personally don't like that arrangement and have never seen it before now.  There are 10 rental units and 27 tent sites.

Very nice playground
Dump Station
Very nice swimming pool
Nice gameroom
Kerplonken Lake for fishing
Cable at most sites
Trash pickup at site
Picnic table at site
LP Gas
Enclosed rec hall
Massage Therapy
Store with RV Supplies

This is a very nice campground and we would definitely recommend it for a short or long term stay.  The setting is very nice.  It is far enough off the interstate that you can't hear the noise and you feel that you are in the country.  We were in a site up on the hill that overlooked the lake.
