Camp Lakewood is located in Effingham, IL on the north shore of Lake Pauline which is not far from the junction of I-70 and I-57.  From I-57/70 - Exit 160: Take exit 160, north on ILL route 32/33 to Ford Avenue (beside the Ford car dealer). Turn right on Ford Avenue and proceed to the stop sign. Turn left onto Raney Street and go to the end of Raney. Turn left onto Rickelman Avenue and drive beyond the mobile home park to the large sign "Camp Lakewood" and turn left down the lane to the office. From I-57/70 - Exit 162: Take exit 162, turn north (right) on US Route 45 and proceed to the traffic light near the Pilot Truck Stop. Turn left at the light onto Rickelman Avenue and go straight down the road for two miles. Continue driving beyond the mobile home park to the large sign "Camp Lakewood" and turn left down the lane to the office.

The access road to this campground is paved and the interior roads are gravel.  There are 60 RV sites with picnic tables at the sites.  Fifty seven of the sites are full hookups and 3 have water and electric only.  Some of the sites have 30/50 amp electricity and some have only 30 amp electricity.  Forty four of the sites are pull thrus and some of the sites are side by side parking.  There are 2 rental units available and 3 tent sites.

This is a nice shady campground that is far enough from the freeway that there is no freeway noise.  They are open from March 1 to December 29.
